The need for Universal primary education has been a Fundamental right of every citizen of India under the age of 14 years. This was highlighted in the Unnikrishnan vs State of Andhra Pradesh case.
The other issue is free education for Girl children in view of the social biases existing in India.
The resources available in Government Schools is very poor, and the use of creativity in education is only being appreciated now. Creativity should be part of the curriculum and not an extra-curricular activity.
Curriculum planning is important. There are many curricula available for differing pockets in India include State Government syllabi, ICSE, CBSE and foreign curricula like IGCSE and Cambridge syllabi.
The population in India is massive, and the Government schools cannot cater to the entire population.
